Tarjamati’s Language Series for Students

In our Language Series for Students this semester, we will focus on sociolinguistics and share brief summaries of exciting chapters from Janet Holmes’ “An Introduction to Sociolinguistics.”

Not only I found the study of Sociolinguistics important and enjoyable, but I also believe it’s eye-opening to different cultures.  I see both Translation and Sociolinguistics as two key elements that support our balanced understanding of language and appreciation for culture.

I hope all linguistics students enjoy this series. Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any comments on questions. The goal is to help you go through the chapters in a short time without missing valuable information!

One last thing to remember! If you find the notes useful, remember to cite your sources!
